Till June 25, 2021, the National Health Commission of China released data showing that more than 630 million people have been vaccinated in my country, which means that the vaccination rate of the entire population in China has exceeded 40%, which is an important step towards establishing herd immunity .

So many people will be concerned about how do they know if they have developed antibodies after receiving the new crown vaccine?

At present, the most mainstream new crown antibody detection kit on the market is the IgM/IgG antibody detection kit (colloidal gold method).

Coronavirus (COV) is a large family of viruses that cause diseases ranging from the common cold to more serious diseases such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV). SARS-CoV-2 is a new strain that has not been found in humans before. “Coronavirus disease 2019″ (COVID-19) is caused by the virus “SARS-COV-2″ infection.” SARS-CoV-2 patients reported mild symptoms (including some patients who did not report symptoms) to severe. COVID -19 Symptoms manifest as fever, fatigue, dry cough, shortness of breath and other symptoms, which can quickly develop into severe pneumonia, respiratory failure, septic shock, multiple organ failure, severe acid-base metabolism disorder, etc. This may be life-threatening and is urgently needed Perform rapid testing to manage the current pandemic.

The new coronavirus IgM/IgG antibody detection kit is designed to qualitatively detect SARS-CoV-2 infection antibodies and use it as an auxiliary tool for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Detection principle

The kit contains (1) a combination of recombinant neocoronavirus antigen markers and quality control protein markers and (2) two detection lines (T1 and T2, respectively coated with anti-human IgM and IgG antibodies) and a quality control line (including By anti-quality control protein antibody). When the sample is added to the test strip, the gold-labeled recombinant SARS-CoV-2 protein will bind to the viral IgM and/or IgG antibodies present in the sample to form an antigen-antibody complex. These complexes move along the test strip, and then are captured by the anti-human antibody IgM on the T1 line, and/or by the anti-human IgG antibody on the T2 line, a purple-red band appears in the test area, indicating a positive result. If there is no anti-SRAS-CoV-2 antibody in the sample or the level of the antibody in the sample is very low, there will be no purple-red lines at “T1 and T2″. The “quality control line” is used for process control. If the testing process is proceeding normally and the reagents are working properly, the quality control line should always appear.

Detection process

Read this manual carefully before operation to avoid incorrect results.

1. Before testing, all reagents must be equilibrated to room temperature (18 to 25°C).

2. Take out the test card from the aluminum foil bag and place it on a flat, dry surface.

3. The first step: Use a pipette or transfer pipette to add 10μL of serum/plasma, or 20μL of finger whole blood or venous whole blood to the sample well.

4. Step 2: Immediately add 2 drops (60µL) of sample buffer to the sample well.

5. Step 3: When the test starts to work, you can see the red color moving on the reaction window in the center of the test card, and the test result will be obtained within 10-15 minutes. .

Interpretation of results

Positive (+)

 news_pic_2

1. There are 3 red lines (T1, T2, and C) in the reaction window. No matter which line appears first, it indicates the presence of new coronavirus IgM and IgG antibodies.

2. There are 2 red lines (T1 and C) in the reaction window, no matter which line appears first, it indicates the presence of new coronavirus IgM antibodies.

3. There are two red lines (T2 and C) in the reaction window, no matter which line appears first, it indicates the presence of new coronavirus IgG antibodies.

Negative(-)

1. Only the “C” line (quality control line) in the reaction window indicates that no antibodies to the new coronavirus have been detected, and the result is negative.

Invalid

 news_pic_4

1. If the quality control (C) line is not displayed within 10-15 minutes, the test result is invalid regardless of whether there is a T1 and/or T2 line. It is recommended to re-test.

2. The test result is invalid after 15 minutes.
